More than 20 years on, it’s now the “world’s oldest and most iconic mountain bike stage race”.
The original race was 2,500 km from Darwin to Cairns in Wet Season. High humidity and temperatures, requiring personal endurance, interpersonal relationship building with the elite athletes.
As soon as I read about the proposed ‘Crocodile Trophy’ mountain bike stage race, I knew it was something I had to do.
